Monday DECEMBER 2. Nice and warm but the wind blew pretty hard until 2 or 3 O clock. Lew and Dave hauled the rest of the stack that was over in the alfalfa piece in the forenoon and I fixed the fence around the alfalfa straw stack in the windy hill piece and in the afternoon we put up the rafters on the cow barn.

Tues DECEMBER 3. Quite a nice day. Dave and I moved over and fixed up the cornfodder up at windy hill and then shucked corn the rest of the day. Lew went up Rists Canion [Canyon] after a load of thick stuff that Mr Neece had but I am afraid that it wont do us much good for it is beginning to decay most too much to be worth much.

In the afternoon Dave and I shucked corn.

Thurs DECEMBER 5. Quite a nice day again. The boys went up to Spring Kanion [Canyon] to tear down the old man Casey house and bring down the lumber that we can use. I shucked corn.

Fri DECEMBER 6. Very nice day this has been. The boys got home to night. They report having torn down the old man Casey house and they brought home a pretty fair load of lumber. I husked corn all day.

Sat DECEMBER 7. Quite comfortable until along in the afternoon when the wind had two or three spells of blowing from the west quite smartly. Lew went up to the Spring Canion [Canyon] ranch to look over things up there and try to find Giddings's and Smokes colts. Dave went to town after Meda and tended to the chores. I husked corn a while then worked at the cow barn some then Mother and I went to Dots's.
