Sun March 2 Quite nice with rather a cool wind. All kept Sunday very well. Dave went out to see somebody and C V Howard was here in the evening.

Mon March 3 Quite a nice warm day. Started in to haul the alfalfa seed to town. Had lots of vexation of spirit on account that Mr Kugh wanted the whole including the sacks and pay for cleaning and half of the screenings but we got some better terms or we would have brought it home again. Got some of it cleaned and Lew staid [stayed] over there to help clean it.

Tues March 4 Mostly cloudy but other wise quite comfortable. Lew helped clean alfalfa seed until we got through. I went over this morning with the last 11 sacks and staid [stayed] until it was finished. Then we came home. Got home about chore time. Dave done the chores mostly.

Wed March 5 Sort of a cloudy sour day and spit snow a little. Dave and Lew hauled a couple of loads of hay from windy hill. Then Lew went to town to do some errands. I put some stays to the stack yard around the stacks of alfalfa straw. Cut some cions and tinkered in the shop a little.

Thurs March 6th Clear but the wind blew considerable. The boys butchered the little sow in the forenoon and in the afternoon they trained Grant and Logan. I tinkered in the shop. The Jola cow had a nice heifer calf. Lews cow had a calf last night.

Friday March 7 Neither clear or stormy cold or warm but a little of all. The boys broke colts some. I worked at the boat part of the time and pruned in the orchard some. The boys brought out some things for the boat such as lumber nails etc.

Sat March 8 Mostly clear and quite warm. The boys drove the colts together to day and they seem to be the making of a nice team. Will Kingland came over to day and rode Dandy. He is going to break him to ride. I worked at the boat made quite a start at it.

Sunday March 9 Rather on the windy order to day. Will Kingland rode Dandy and he kicked up his heels quite lively. Took Slim home. Riley Wathan started for home just after supper. Dave and him killed about a dozzen [dozen] ducks to day. Lew has gone to take Meda over to town now. I have felt rather ill to day.

Monday March 10 A little snow this morning and rather squally in the forenoon and turned cold just at night. Lew plowed at the ditch next to John Howards and chored around. Dave went to town and brought out Mr Plummer who is going to board with us. A Mr Howd was here from Larimie [Laramie] City looking for trees and shrubbery and fish and farm produce generally. I worked at the boat what time I could get to put in at it.
