Tues. Feb. 21st Ground hog day. The morning quite cloudy but broke away towards noon and the sun shone out quite bright and the ground hog could see his shadow most of the afternoon. We continued to visit.

Wed. Feb. 3 Beautiful all day and kept it up in the evening. Reas and Sutton butchered the hogs to day [today]. They had 4 of them. At night we all but Ett and Ida went to the Lyceum. Ett had the sick headache and staid [stayed] at home and Ida staid [stayed] with her.

We found a good many there that we knew and enjoyed the evening entertainment vey [very] much.

Thurs. Feb 4 Not very cold but quite a snow on the ground when we got up and snowed quite a spell after so we have about 5 or 6 inches of snow now. It stormed so much that we didnt start for home but stayed and continued to visit.

Fri. Feb. 5 A little better to day. Katie seems to be quite out of fix this morning. I guess the grip. We started home by town. Stopped at Collins until after dinner then came on and got home about 2 O clock. Met Lew on the way and found all well and flourishing and I guess the kids got along all right for we we didnt see anything wrong nor hear any complaints.

Sat Feb 6 1892 Commenced snowing this morning and kept it up all day pretty steady and pretty hard and the wind piled it up some too. The boys hauled a load of hay for the sheep and attended to the other chores. I can easier tell what I didnt do than what I did do.

Sun Feb 7th A little sharp this morning but a nice clear day. We done the chores and kept Sunday some too.

Mon Feb 8 Cold in the morning 4° but got warmer and towards night cooler. The boys weighed 6 sheep again to day and found that the 6 sheep had gained 10 lbs in the 10 days. They hauled and filled the steer racks and put some snow into the cistern. I mended Noahs ark and a griddle and skillet. Farrers two hands were here to supper.

Tues. Feb. 9 Pretty cold and raw all day. The boys cleaned out the sheep racks and hauled some hay and put into them and done some other odd little jobs.

Feb. 10 A North west wind. It blowed pretty hard all day and thawed quite a bit. The boys and I cleaned up some oats and some corn in the grainery. They took the oats to the barn and the corn to the sheep correll [corral] and hauled some hay for the steers.

Thurs. Feb 11 About an inch of new snow this morning and pretty cool all day but thawed a little. The boys hauled some manure and filled the sheep racks and found and doped one scabby sheep. I put snow into the cistern a couple of times and didnt do much else.

Fri Feb 12 A clear still warm day and thawed lots. They boys hauled cow manure this forenoon and in the afternoon they went to town to send off and distribute butter and quite a number of other errands. Got home in good season. I chored some and put some snow into the cistern. Clints Farrers two men get back here to night [tonight].

Sat. Feb 13 Clear nice and warm. The boys hauled manure this forenoon and this afternoon filled the racks for the steers. We weighed the sheep this forenoon and were well pleased with their progress since last Monday. Most that we weighed had increased in the neighborhood of 2 lbs each within the five days. I worked at pitching manure and fixing the steers sack this afternoon.
