Lew and Dan got back to day [today]. Johny went to school.

Wed Jan 2 Clear and still again
and rather cold but a little warmer than it
has been of late. I am still out of sorts
dont get to have any strength or ambition and
my wind is very short. Lew and Mary were still
looking for a place. Dan went to take some
of Lews cattle to the pasture down near Franks.

Thurs Jan 3 Pretty fair day only rather
cold. Mr and Mrs Neece went on to town this morning
and Dan went to Reas's and got Meda. John went to
school. Lew went and took Mary back to Charleys and
went from there to look after a ranch to rent.
I staid [stayed] with Mother by the Stove.

Fri Jan 4 A little warmer to day [today]. In
fact it thawed a little in some places. Lew fixed the ice
house ready to store ice and Dan went over to try to find
out what had become of Reas's steer that had got out
of the stock yard found it had been shipped
for Denver all right [alright]. Johny went to school
and I done 0.

Sat Jan 5 Nice with a
west wind which softened the snow quite a lot
but didnt make many bare spots. The boys put
9 good loads of snow in the cistern and
worked at the wood pile some. John took
Mabel Dwyre home among other little jobs.
Mirabila Dicto I got out and made a pig
trough and took the old one out and put
the new one in.
