Sat May 11 Clear but quite a cold wind.
Will laid off the piece towards the barn in the
morning and we planted it and got through
a while [awhile] before night and then helped Mother
at her flower arrangements.

Sun May 12 Clear and quite a frost this
morning but I dont see any damage that has
been done by it. Will went up home to day [today]
got back in good time for the chores.
Mother and Kate and I have kept Sunday and Kate
went over to town to night [tonight]. Lew and Mary came
over to night [tonight] and are here now.

Mon May 13 A little frosty this
morning but clear and quite warm. We commenced
to haul manure this morning but stalled with
the second load and had to unload it so
we quit and Will went to plowing. Got it about
half plowed. I hoed strawberry plants.

Tues May 14 Clear and rather
warm. Will worked at the patch below the
orchard finished plowing it and harrowed and
clod crushe [crushed] part of it. Mr Cyrus Buffoms folks
were here and made us a visit and at noon
there was a man here who wants us to
board his wife and two daughters awhile.
He agreed to pay us 30 dollars [$30.00] a month for their
board. I worked some at the strawberry
patch and visited lots with Silas
Buffoms folks.
