Will done what he could see to do. Dave and I
went over to town and I and Lew helped Dr
Larimer prove up on his timber claim. I
think he will have no difficulty in
getting his title all right [alright].

Sat July 13 A pretty good day but awful
wet. Dave went up to Spring Canion [Canyon] ranch
reports evrything [everything] lovely with plenty to eat and drink.
Will and I ground a couple of sickles and
put in the two head gates front of the
house.

Sun July 14 A very beautiful Nice warm
clear day. The reservoir No 4 broke last night and
the moist wet water prevailed Evrywhere [Everywhere]. We worked
at fixing up the ditch around the lake a
spell this morning then fixed up and went
over to Lews and Mrs Bartlett will stay there
for a day or two. We had a nice visit and got
home in good time.

Mon July 15 Clear and warm and still. O how
things are growing these days.
The boys plowed corn all day. I fixed the spouts
and things ready to fill the cistern this forenoon
and this afternoon hoed some found the speckled
heifer with a light red bull calf. Meda is to get
home to night [tonight] from Denver and Will has gone
over after her.

Tues July 16 Fine and pretty warm.
The boys finished plowing the corn and Will went
to town and got him a suit of clothes. We hoed
the rest of the time except that I fixed up a
box to haul chickens in.
