Sun July 21 It has been cloudy mostly
and has rained quite a bit and at two or three
times. We kept Sunday tolerably well but looked around
some about the ditches and the rocky ridge lake.

Mon July 22 Cloudy most of the day and
it rained some at diverous [diverse] times but only a
little. We picked two crates of currants for Mr
Horner and two crates of cherries for several
people and this afternoon Dave took them to
town and has not got back yet. Will mowed some
down in the orchard and I hoed strawberry vines
some.

Tues July 23 Cloudy in the
fore part of the day but it cleared off after while and
now looks as though it intended to behave
better. Dave went over to town with Mrs
Bartlett and plowed and done some other odd
jobs in the afternoon. Will went over to
town to meet his Mother and John but they
didnt meet so he came home and this afternoon
hoed. I hoed and mowed and mowed and hoed and mowed.
Kate O Laughlan and a Shafer girl were drowned
near the headgate of the Larimer and Weld
reservoir this forenoon about ten O clock.

Wed July 24 A delightful Colorado
day. Clear warm and Still in fact a splendid hay day.
Dave worked for Mr Bee. Will worked
at howing [hoeing] and mowing in the forenoon
and for Will Dixon in the afternoon. I put in the
day at howing [hoeing] and trimming Raspberries and
mowing. Harry and Annie Dixon are here to
night [tonight].
