Thurs July 25 A morning without Spot
blemish or cloud but towards noon it began to
cloud up and after a while [awhile] it began to thunder
and towards night we got quite a little sprinkle
but it has got nice again now. Dave worked
for Mr Bee. Will went to town in the forenoon
with the butter etc. and this afternoon he worked
for Will Dixon. I hoed mostly on the strawberry
bed.

Fri July 26 Fine in the
morning but clouded up in the afternoon
and threatened rain a good deal and it
thundered and lightninged a heap but
that was all. Dave worked at home in
the forenoon and in the afternoon
for Will Dixon. Will worked for him
all day. I hoed and raked hay in the
orchard and then hoed strawberries
again and got along pretty well.

Sat July 27 Clear warm still
and hot. The boys helped Will Dixon in the
forenoon and this afternoon Dave went to town
and Will and I hoed.

Sun July 28 Clear in the fore part
of the day but got pretty windy and rough
in the afternoon and towards night it rained
a little. Mother and I went over to Lews. We
expected to meet Franks folks there but they did
not come but we visited with Lews folks.
The rest staid [stayed] at home and kept Sunday.
