Mon July 29 Rather on the cloudy order and
it threatened rain lots but didnt rain here
but all around it rained and some places it
just poured down and I think it hailed in
spots too. Dave and Will cleaned out the plum
patch in good shape and then Dave went to
town and got some chicken feed and other things.
I irrigated the strawbery [strawberry] patch and the
corn beans peas and the little patch of
potatoes. Ett and Grace were here and got 25qts
of currants.

Tues July 30 Threatened and thundered
all day but didnt rain much here but I think that
they catched it South of here. The boys worked with
the water mostly but at other things some. I irrigated
for a spell then quit and done nothing but
got sick at my stomach and should have thrown
up my shoes only they were tied on.

Wed July 31 It threatened and thundered
and blustered around a good deal to day [today] and rained
like blazes in some places around us Especially
East and South of us. Will trimmed the blight
off from the limbs of the apple trees. Dave
Mother and I went to town with two dozzen [dozen]
chickens sold them for 8 dolls pr dozzen [dollars per dozen]. I paid
the ballance [balance] of the taxes for 1894 $25 [$25.00] and sent to
Chicago to the Eggleston Trus [Truss] Co [Company] for a truss. I want
to try it and if it is satisfactory will pay five dolls [dollars] [$5.00]
for it. I left the money in the Poudre Valley bank
to day [today]. We went out to Charleys had a nice visit
and eat [ate] dinner with them.
