Tues Aug 6 Very fine. Dave mowed the piece
in the N W Corner in the forenoon with Lady and
Flory and in the afternoon he shocked in the
piece north of the house. Will raked and bunched
the piece north of the barn and raked the piece
North of the house in the forenoon and in the
afternoon he bunch [bunched] it up and then shocked
the rest of the day. I shockee [shocked] most of the time
to day [today] and the rest of the time I worked at odd jobs.

Wed Aug 7 Pretty nice until nearly
5 O clock when it raised thunder awhile and
began to rain a little and it rained just enough to
make us quit haying for to day [today]. Dave mowed
the piece over on the hill and helped shock a little.
Will and I finished shocking the piece north
of the house then he hoed until noon then
raked on the piece in the N W corner. I
Shocked a while [awhile] on the piece in N W Corner.

Thurs Aug 8 Cloudy some of the tine [time]
and and about 2 O clock it began to rain
and it rained quite a shower and then
after that we got quite a dash 2 or 3 times.
We got the piece in the N W Corner all
shocked up and Will hoed the piece over
on the hill pretty near into windrows.
