The Board of Governors for the Colorado State University System (formerly the State Board of Agriculture) was established by Colorado Governor John Routt in 1877. The governing body’s records at CSU include correspondence, financial documents, minutes, photographs, and reports related to a broad range of departments and programs. Within the correspondence series, early letters to the secretary of the governing board Frank J. Annis reflect routine college business as well as more specific requests from Colorado farmers and business owners for information that could be provided by college agricultural researchers.
The digitization of this selection of letters was supported in part by an award from the Colorado State Historical Records Advisory Board, through funding from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), National Archives and Records Administration.
This From the Page collection contains 35 letters dated 1883 to 1905, most of which are handwritten. The project will run from October 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020.
