Black Hawk Carroll County Miss. March 7th 1879

Hono W. L. Hemingway Jackson Dr Lynn, There is a vacancy in the Magistrate's office of this, brat nod 3 of the Vaiden district, Wm Bell, the farmer occupant haveing resigned. I believe under the law, the Govenor has the power to appoint to vacancies caused by death or otherwise, I am anxious to get the appointment. Please use your influences in my behalf. You know better than I what is necessary to be done. Do it, and much oblige Your friend Allen S Pate
