Your communication of Feb. 21^st was received several days ago. I would have responded immediately but unfortunately Our little country stores could not afford any stationery. I write to request a few favors of you, and I trust you will grant them.

The first is, will you please tell me who it was that "urged the pardon of Wright in such warm terms". I mean of the parties to whom I referred you. And the second is will you please send me the list of names presented to the Gov petitioning the pardon of Wright.
