Gov Stone,
Dear Friend,
The petitions of Col Pound which are now being signed over the different portions of the County, will be forwarded to you Wednesday or Thursday, and I hope they will be ample to show how he is or would be supported I have nothing in any shape form or fashion to say against Mr Boggan for he is a No 1 Man & would make a good Sheriff, but I do claim all for Col Pound that I concede to my friend Boggan and should Mr Boggan be the successful applicant I say all "OK,, though I hope Pound may be the success-full applicant. Stop & Spend several days with us the next time. Please excuse me for troubling you -
Your friend [Space] N. M. Hay
