The 46th Regiment, Mississippi Infantry (Confederate) was organized on December 2, 1862 from the 6th Battalion, Mississippi Infantry under the command of Lt. Col. William K. Easterling and served in the Western Theater in Lee's, Baldwin's, and Seal's brigades. It was later commanded by Cols. Claudius W. Sears and William H. Clark, Maj. T. D. Magee, and Capts. James B.
