Description
The Mississippi Legislation Revised Code of the Statute Laws of the State of Mississippi (1871) was passed by the state legislature to revise the state laws to be executed in 1871. Special commissioners J. A. P. Campbell, Amos R. Johnston, and Amos Lovering were appointed in 1870 to oversee changes to current laws by making amendments, creating new laws, or removing outdated statutes from the Mississippi law books. These amendments were produced for the legislature where they were further scrutinized and amended, eventually passing at the January session in 1871.
