The 2nd Regiment, Mississippi Infantry (Confederate) was organized on May 1, 1861 in Alcorn County, Mississippi under the command of Col. William C. Falkner and served in the Eastern Theater under Whiting's, Law's, and J. R. Davis' Brigades in the Army of Northern Virginia. It was later commanded by Col. John M. Stone.
