Legislation. Mississippi

While the Mississippi Constitution grants each chamber some unique power, the House and Senate are equal partners in the legislative process as both chambers are required to enact legislation. Bills are originated in either house, and to become law, must receive a simple majority in both chambers. Once passed, it is sent to the Mississippi state governor for passage, veto, or pocket-veto, and the state legislature can overcome the veto with a two-thirds majority vote. (Wikipedia)
