Know all men by those presents that I John Flowers of the County of Choctaw State of Mississip-pi have made constitued & appointed Jos B Dunn

My true and lawful agent for me and in my name & for my use & benefit to ask & recieve of & from the Confederate States or the State of Mississippi all Sumes of money as may be due & coming to me from the Confederate States or the State of Mississippi on a certain claim or a/c for a Gray horse impressed by W. B. Peery by order of Governor J. J. Pettus through Brig. General J. Z. George and bearing date May 9th 1863, as will appear by reference to an a/c here referred to for three hundred & fifty dollars & to receipt for the same in as full, comple, & am-ple manner as I myself could do now I perso-nally present—My Said agent is hereby fully authorized to sign my name to any instrument of writing that may be necessary to enable him to draw what money may be owed & Coming to me here on the Said claim above refered to=

I hereby ratify confirm & allow all & every thing my agent does in the premises.

Personally appeared before me Tho N Davis Clerk of the Circuit Court of Said County the above named John Flowers who acknowledged that he Signed Sealed & delivered the above power of attorney on the day & year therein menti-oned for the purposes therein expressed.

Given under my hand & seal of office at Greensboro this 30th day of November 1863 Tho N. Davis Clk
