The foregoing were all the witnesses examined on the trial of said cause

There was no question made on the instructions to the Jury, but those asked by either party were given

The jury after due delibera-tion returned a verdict of guilty and the a motion for a new trial being overruled the Defendant was sentenced to be hung on the 14th,, day of Sept. next.

This 1870 census record shows Joshua Newell in Warren County with a Nathan Gibson (mis-transcribed as Gilson) living in the household. There's also a 14-year-old Louisa who is probably Lovinia.
