Dear Sir

I have been requested by a soldiers aid Society, of Pontotoc County, formed at Zion Church, to address you in their behalf, to inform you they are desirous to contribute their labour in making up clotheing for any portion of the army, most needing the same, and that they hereby solicit your aid in furnishing them, if you have at your command any cloth of any description for them to make up, for the sol=diers, either for coats, pants, shirts or what not, at your suggestion.

If you can furnish any material for them, you will please, either send them to this station on the Mobile & Ohio R Road or place them in charge of the bearer Mr Anderson

please drop me a line & say what you can do. for our enterprising Lady Society [gap] and much oblige
