We the undersign Petitioners and Patterns of Evergreen P,O, Newton County Miss,, beg leave to Respectfully ask your consideration on the proptiety of Exemping Wm,, J. Lovett from Milatary duty as Postmaster at Evergreen Newton County Miss,, durineg the time he Shall Serve as Postmaster at the above nameed office as there is no other person in the immediate Vicinity of the office that is calculated and Qualified to discharg the duties of the office and the calling of the Said Wm,, J. Lovett out in the Service would Natually Discontinue the office and cause agret Distitution in this vicinity We further certify that we have bin acquanted with the above nameed Wm,, J. Lovett for Several years and know him to be a man of infirm and feble health and Said Wm,, J. Lovett Makes a faithful and accomidating Postmaster and has bin Discharging the duties of Postmaster at the above nameed office for the Past Fifteen years and We beg for his Exemption as Sutch
