The world will never adjust itself
To suit your whims, to the letter
Some things must go wrong, your whole life long
And the sooner you know it, the better.
It is folly to fight with the Infinite
And go under at last, in the wrestle
The wiser one, shapes, into Gods own plan
As the water shapes, round the vessel.
He bade me find my loving Father first
. . . make my baby brother smile
. . . take the cup to Love as thirst.
. . . go & come _ Ah! many a mile.
And I _ I went and came as I was sent
And, when I wondered why such things should be
And, wondering, doubted what was His intent,
I heard Him say, "He did it unto Me.
