Again, It is a Union in
the Order of the Chh.
There was an order to be
observed in the Apos. Chhs.
and consiquently to be imi-
tated by other Churches.
Thus all things were to be
"done decently & in Order;"
"Things were to be set in order"
at Crete"; Paul rejoiced
to behold the order of the
Colossians. 1 Cor. 14:40. Titus 1:15
Col. 2:5.
This consisted, as we may
infer from the scriptures,
in having proper officers,
Right observance of the
Ordinances, the exercise
of Christian Graces, and
maintainance of good works.
Titus 2:5. Eph. 4:11. 1 Cor. 11:2. [Phil.] 4:8.
Eph. 2:10. Titus 3:8.

It is also a union in the disci-
pline; For an impor-
tant part of the duty of a
Church, is to mark those,
who cause divissions &
offenses; to hear & determine
complaints; To rebuke,
admonish, censure, re-
claim or expel. Rom. 16:17.
2 Thess. 3:14,15. Matt. 18:16,17. 2 Cor. 13:1.
1 Tim 5:20. 2 Cor. 2:6. Gal. 5:1. 1 Cor. 5:11.
2 Thess. 3:6.

I now consider the mo-
tives for cherishing this
union.

1th The professed relationship
subsisting. "Brethren".
I, who am your Brother,
beseech you, who are brethren
to me, and to each other, xc.
So Abram dealt with Lot;
Gen. 13:8. --- "We are brethren".
So Joseph with his brethren;
Gen. 45:24. --- Fall not out by the way
Ps. 133:1. Behold, how good ---
