Dear Sir:-
Enclosed please find draft for $500.00 in American funds, as per instructions received from Mr. Stefansson to-day.
In connection with your monthly salary, please be advised that I have opened a savings account in the main office of the Bank of Nova Scotia, Vancouver, and deposited your first salary cheque for the month of July in the amount of $150.00. This is in accordance with the agreement made between the Company and yourself.
The reason for putting it in the savings account is that you will get interest on your money, and you can also use it as a checking account to the extend of two or three cheques a month.
Trusting this is satisfactory to you, we remain,
Yours faithfully,
THE STEFANSSON ARCTIC EXPLORATION AND DEVELOPMENT COMPANY, LIMITED John [Anderson] Secretary,

Dear Mr. Crawford;-
I thank you very much for your letter of the 11th., with regard to your disbursements.
It would have been very much better if the money advanced by Mr. Stefansson to you had passed through the Company's bank account and bills paid through the Company. It would have releived you of some responsibility. All that would have been necessary for you in purchasing your requirements would be to give an order on the Company. However when I get your papers I have no doubt everything will be worked put satisfactorily.
Yours sincerely,
THE STEFANSSON ARCTIC EXPLORATION & DEV'T CO., LTD. John [Anderson]
