Dear Mr. FitzGerald:
I was about to write you a long letter about the resources, history, political status, etc., of Wrangel Island, and about the advisability of the Company establishing a post on that island, when I learned that you had gone to England. I am, accordingly, placing the matter directly before Mr. Sale. I hope very much you will discuss it thoroughly before you come back. Personally, I want to urge in the strongest way possible that action be taken this summer. Your doing so will, I believe, add greatly to the advantage of the Company, and I know it will be warmly welcomed by the Government at Ottawa.
Mr. Edward FitzGerald, The Hudson’s Bay Company, Hudson’s Bay House, London, E. C. 3.
