Dear Sir,

I have your favor of 22nd inst for which many
thanks and hope you will keep the "Ruby" well in mind should
you require a vessel next season or have any freight to go
North.

She is now here practically ready for sea, is light
draft, about 12 feet fully loaded, and with 400 tons of cargo
would draw about 9 feet. She has made many successful
trips into the far North,(three times to Herschell Island for
the Hudson Bay Co.,) and never encountered damage, is iron
bark sheathed, and has the same propeller now as she had then.

Wishing you the compliments of the season.

Yours very truly,
Louis Knaflich
