Mr. Vihlarmur Stephenson
American Geographical Society
156th St. & Broadway,
New York City.

Dear Sir;-

We have been requested by Mr. John Felkel
of Nome, Alaska, and Seattle, to get in touch with you.

Mr. Felkel is our Alaska fur buyer and
originally expected to come to New York this Winter. Owing to his
inability to come here he requested us to write you with reference to
four men who were taken in September, by Schooner Silver Wave to Wrangle
Island
.

Before returning from the Island, these
four men told Capt. Jack Hamar of the Silver Wave to be certian to com-
municate with you as to make arrangements for them to be taken off
the Island this year.

As it is also possible that you may be
inclined to buy the Silver Wave, Capt. Hamar who is two thirds owner,
and Mr. Felkel who is one third owner, both are willing to sell the
ship for $8000,00.

If you are desirous, as our friend
Mr. Felkel seems to believe, to either charter the Silver Wave to take
these four men off Wrangle Island or to buy the boat outright and hire
Capt. Hamer for wages, we would be very pleased to get in touch, on
your behalf with Mr. Felkel.

Hoping to be favored by the courtesy of
your reply, we remain

Very truly yours,
