Dear Mr. Knight:

I wonder if you have the address of Charlie
Andersen or if you know any way of tracing him? I have heard
recently that he is supposed to be in charge of a small ranch some-
where in California. I should like very much to be able to get in
touch with him.

If you know some way of tracing him, I hope you
will put the machinery in operation immediately. If you can reach
him, I would appreciate his wiring me his address, sending the tele-
gram collect to the Harvard Club, New York.

I am expecting to sail for Europe on May 12th
and shall be back about June 15th. Things seem to be going well
about Wrangel Island. I would not be surprised if we get a wire-
less message any day, in case the boys got homesick. Had I been
on Wrangel Island and homesick I should have left about the first
of March. It is about a hundred miles to the land and about seven
hundred miles across country from there to the wireless. Accord-
ingly, a message would be due about now or any time this month.
