Mrs. O.R. Wilcox, Secretary to V. Stefansson, c/o The American Geographical Society, Broadway at 156th St., New York, N. Y.
Dear Mrs. Wilcox:-
I was glad to get your letter of the 21st this morning, and you will have by this time received a very badly typed note which I sent you last Saturday evening relaying the telegram I had received that day from Mr. Noice.
This last telegram has relieved my anxiety to some extent, as it seems to reassure us on the point of at least having a suitable vessel for the expedition, but it doesn't make the necessity for immediate funds any less acute, and I wish it were possible for me to advance the money without troubling Mr. Stefansson at this time, but, unfortunately, this is quite out of the question, as I have seldom been as hard up as I am at present.
Mr. Noice speaks in his telegram of a credit of $10,000. I think that if we establish a credit of $7,000. it will probably be sufficient, and I do hope in the next day or two we may receive this money from England.
I am particularly obliged to you for the very capable way in which you are attending to all these important matters.
Yours sincerely,
(Signed) A. J. T. Taylor
