Copy of a letter delivered to me by Harold Noice at
Seattle, Wash. , addressed to Mrs. J. I. Knight;
" Dear Mother;-
Crawford and I are about to leave here for Nome
in a day or so ,and as accidents are as likely to happen
to one in this counrty as any where else I am leaving this
letter for you with Maurer & Galle in case some unforseen
occurrance happens to me.
I am not in the least afraid of my welfare but 'safety first'.
I am also leaving a letter for the manager of the Stef.Ex.
& Dev.Co. asking him to send whatever money is due me, to
you. This money, of course you will consider as your own.
However, if something does happen to me, I will be thinking
of you until the very last with all the love any one ever
had for his Mother. This also applies to Dad & Joe.
Love
Lorne ."
