Dear Stefansson: -

Last Wednesday just before I left for New
York
I had a very pleasant interview with Sir Edmund Walker
during which he asked me some questions in regard to the
Wrangel Expedition. He said that he hoped I would assure
you that there was nothing that had taken place that in any
way shook his confidence in you. He felt that regardless
of what the newspapers might say there was some reasonable
explanation for the whole matter, and he wished me to assure
you that you continued to have his hearty support, and he
would be glad to do anything he could for you in Toronto.

He agreed with me that you were wise in not
addressing the Canadian Club just now, but he also felt that
before very long it would be desirable for you to appear in
Toronto and make a complete statement of the whole affair,
which, I assured him, was your intention.

I am so sorry at not being able to remain in
New York last week-end, but I look forward to seeing you very
soon. I shall be in New York the whole week commencing Dec-
ember 3rd.

Did you receive the copy of Anderson’s letter
to Mr. Brewer which was sent to you for comments before being
forwarded to Mr. Brewer, and which has consequently not yet
gone forward, as we have not heard from you.

Have you had any word as to Ada Blackjack’s
purpose in coming to this country?

Yours sincerely,
AJTayor
