V. Stefansson, Es,.
The American Geographical Society,
Broadway at 156th Street,
New York City], N. Y.

Dear Mr.Stefansson:

Sorry I was away while you had correspondence
with regard to Harold Noice on his return from South America, and
also with regard to your new book. It is very interesting to re-
ceive the carbon of the retraction of Harold Noice.

I have only just returned from the Old Country,
leaving Mr. Taylor in London. I do not expect Mr. Taylor will be
back here much before the end of November. He will probably be
arriving in New York.

Within the next day or so I expect to have a
little spare time so that I can call on Mr. Spence, Professor Craw-
ford
's Attorney. Will let you know the result of our meeting.

It is very important that I receive some more
funds from you at a very early date for the Stefansson Company. As
you are no doubt aware we have only made one payment to Mr. Crawford
and none to the other relatives.

We have also a very pressing account of Thorulf
Lehman
of Nome, Alaska. This was an account contracted by Noice
for provisions, for which a balance remains to be paid somewhere
around $1500. I have managed to stall them along since Noice’s re-
turn from the North with two payments of $100. each, but I am afraid
they cannot be stalled much longer. I would like very much if you
would send me a substantial amount to be placed at the credit of the
Company, so that further payments can be made to liquidate the Com-
pany’s urgent debts.

Yours very truly,
John Anderson
