2. The Toronto Star of Oct. 23rd contained
a statement alleged to have
come from you to the effect
that the failure of relief to
reach Wrangel was owing
primarily to Ggovernment
delay in supplying funds.
We wondered if it would
help matters any next
summer if we were to
write the Government voicing
expressing our bitter
disappointment and anxiety
at the failure of relief
this year.

3. Re the rumor that the
Teddy Bear intended trading
along Siberian coast on its
return from Wrangel this
summer -

It seems to us that the
ship that is engaged specially
to bring the party from Wrangel
should not delay to do
trading and run the risk
of being frozen in before
reaching Nome. Don't you
think so too? Perhaps you
would mention this matter
to Capt Bernard when you
see him in New York
this month.
