"Of course, the relatives and myself are of the opinion
"that Mr. Noice removed the ten pages still missing
"as he did the others and that he either has them
"or destroyed them. We are also of the opinion
"that they do not contain any such damaging
"evidence against Ada Blackjack as Mr. Noice
"now seems to imply." etc.

We wish to state that we do not accuse
Mr. Noice or anyone else of removing pages
from the diary, nor have we expressed any
opinion as to what these missing pages may
or may not contain.

On page 156 [?] the author claims states that "When Harold
"Noice
found himself in possession of all the extant
"records of the four men who died, and when
"he undertook to withhold these from their friends
"and relatives until he published a narrative"
etc." Mr. Noice did not withhold our son's
letter from us, but delivered it to us immediately
upon his return to Toronto from the Arctic.

Where the words "the relatives" are used throughout
the manuscript they should be modified by "certain
of" or "some of."

We regret that the last letter of Mr. Fred Maurer to
his wife dated January 29, 1923 is does not published appear in
the document sent to us. This letter has already been given to the
press by his widow for publication, and its omission will give rise
to unfavorable comment.

Yours truly,

J. T. Crawford,
Helen Crawford
