Apology received from Cr Doudle who was unable to attend Minutes of previous meeting read & confirmed Financial statement showed a credit of £5172.10.2

Correspondence Enquirie at Cummins by Betting Control BoardSecy Betting Control Board advising that the Board would hold an enquirie re providing betting facilities at Cummins at Cummins Institiute on 13th May 1947 at 10.30 am - anyone wishing to give evidence to notify the Board before 6th May 1947 with a statement of the evidence they wished to give. received

Plan to Close Part Road at Wanilla Siding Surveyor General - Letter and plan of proposed closing of portion of road at Wanilla Siding and vesting same in Railway Commissioner for an Order of the Council - This was held over pending a report by the Councils Overseer.

Food for Britain Fund-Hon organizer Food for Britain Fund to chairman re stickers etc. Also to Clerk re same. Clerk advised that he had sent some to Cummins and Yeelanna.

Director of Local Govt advised that the tender of A Simpson & Son for the supply of dog discs to District Councils has been accepted. received

Hydrants for Fire Unit Cummins District Engineer Waterworks Dept advising having forwarded 2 hydrants to LE Chambers Fire Fighting Unit at Cummins and conditions attached to the supply of same to the unit. received

18 Apr 1947 Camp Site-Director of Lands advised licence for ⅛ acre camp site at Kellidie Bay (Sec 278) granted to KB Jarrett of Edillilie.

Flora & Fauna Also advised that Section 14 Hd Flinders had been dedicated as a Flora and Fauna Reserve. received

Re New Tractor & Angle Dozer S.A. Tractor Coy SA Tractor Coy acknowledging receipt of Councils order for a Model D6 Catterpillar Diesel Tractor @ £2450 FOB Pt Adelaide and requesting early advice of angle dozer equipment required with tractor. Prop Cr Ford/ Sec Cr Richardson} That 1 angle dozer with double driver attachment be ordered from S.A Tractor Coy for delivery as soon as possible (price quoted £900 FOB Sydney) carried

Curator Cummins Cemetary-Gordon G Parfitt stating he would accept the position of Curator of Cummins Cemetary and take possession of books etc from Jas Cronin.

LH Nankivell wrote re need of grading the road from Section 29 - 37 Hd Shannon to Karkoo. received

Water Pipe Across Road Hd Lincoln KJ Hyde & Son requested permission to lay a 1 ¼" water pipe across the road between Sections 148 & 159 Hd Lincoln. Prop Cr Woods/ Sec Cr Richardson} That permission be granted subject to usual conditions and point out that it is necessary to obtain permission before laying pipes. carried

Councillors Retiring Clerk reported that on 5th July next Crs GC Smith Shannon Ward, RF Richardson Louth Ward, & P Woods Lincoln Ward, retire by effluxion of time. Nominations to fill the vacancies are due up till noon on 10th May 1947 and also for one (additional) councillor for Mortlock Ward. Prop Cr Morgan/ Sec Cr Ford} That Alfred H Taylor be appointed returning officer to conduct the annual election of councillors at the usual fee . carried

Land for Widening Road Cummins Manager Commercial Bank on a/c AE Siviour with memorandum of transfer from Siviour to this Council portion of Block 2 of Sec 3a Hd Cummins containing 1 acre 20 purches for the purpose of a public road (widening present road to the block) for Councils Seal and Signature. Duly signed and sealed and cheque passed for £13.10.0 in payment of the said land.

H & LG re - Reconditioned Tractor Ordered Highways Dept advised that a reconditioned HD 7 Tractor w/Power Control Unit equipment is available for immediate delivery at £1700, but Angle Dozer is not available at present but can be supplied later, and asking to be advised if tractor is to be forwarded to Council. Prop Cr Smith/ Sec Cr Woods} That this tractor be purchased at once and shipped to Pt Lincoln per Minnipa. carried

Inspection by Engineer Yeates Highways Dept advised that Engineer Yeates will inspect Coffin Bay proposed road deviation and Sleaford Bay Road on 28th April and requesting Councils Overseer to accompany him.

18 Apr 1947 Vermin Report- FA Parker - Report of vermin inspections since last meeting. The result of vermin destruction is satisfactory generally. received

Uley Road-Cr Woods requested that about one mile of rubbling on Uley Road be done. granted Work at Pillana Crossing & Edillilie Oval Cr Ford requested that O Harder be paid for repairs done at Pillana Crossing approximately £4 . granted Cr Ford- application on a/c Edillilie Oval Committee for about 2 hours work with grader on oval when working there .granted

Suggested Land for Public Conveniences Cr Ford requested that the matter of public conveniences at Cummins be considered. Prop Cr Ford/ Sec Cr Smith} That application be made to SA Railways for a site for public lavatories on railway land adjacent to crossing opposite Cummins Hall - approximately 15 ft x 40 ft. carried

Proposed Deviation to A Crawfords Cr Richardson suggested that an improvement in the road to Arch Crawfords could be made by cutting off a corner and that Crawford is agreeable to exchange the necessary land. This was approved

Phone Line Cr Morgan requested permission to erect a telephone line across road between Sections 208 and 130 Hd Warrow. Prop Cr Woods/ Sec Cr Richardson} That the request be granted. carried
