Minutes of District Council Meeting held 21 st April 1923 Present Jas O'Shanahan ( in the chair ) Crs Simes, Puckridge, Morgan, & Hall. Minutes of Previous meeting read & confirmed. Financial Statement for past month submitted. Correspondence Sections Transferred. Letter from the Dept Lands & Survey informing Clerk that application to transfer the following sections had been received, requesting advice if any instalments were due on same for Vermin Loans. - 39/44,46/50,62/65,51/56, 67/72, Hd Ulipa. Instalments unpaid. 36/8, 62/3, Hd Wanilla, Instalments paid.

Commonwealth Road Grant Letter from the Local Govt Dept, enclosing letter from the Commonwealth Minister for Works & Railways, re completion of works being carried out from Commonwealth Road Grant.

Instalments Due for Vermin Loans. Letter from the Secry Lands re balance due 1st Febry last, for instalments due on Vermin Loans. Also receipt for cheque received for £426

Width of Tires Bill. Letter from Mr T Duffield advising Councils to pass a By-Law as authorised by Act 1182 of 1914 Clause 376 Sub Sect xx

"The Builder " Magazine Letter from the Secry,regarding copy sent of this magazine. resolved Council subscribe for copies for five Crs - for twelve months.

Dog Discs Notification from the Local Govt Dept that A Simpson & Sons Ltd, tender for dog discs had been accepted by the Government. Receipt from Simpson & Son Ltd for Councils order for discs.

"Minda" Home. Letter from the Secry "Minda" Home requesting a subscription. Moved by Cr Simes, that one guinea be subscribed. 2nd Cr Morgan & Carried.

Adelaide Childrens Hospital Letter from the Secry requesting a subscription. Moved by Cr Puckridge that one guinea be subscribed. 2nd Cr Simes & Carried.

Lease Roads Application to lease roads received from CE Theakstone. Resolved road be leased to CE Theakstone.

"Old Coast Road" Letter from Mr W Mahoney referring to bad state of part of this road, & asking that an inspection be made of same, Cr Puckridge asked that the Overseer inspect & report on same by next meeting.

Mt Hope to Kapinnie Mail Track. Letter from Mr RL Myers referring to this road, & asking that some repairs be done. Reply to be sent that the matter will be considered at a future date.

Railways Standing Committee Letter from the Acting Secretary requesting permission to use the Hall for the purpose of the Committee to take evidence in connection with proposed public works on Eyre Peninsula. reply sent, Council grant the use of the Council Hall.

A.L. Hill Letter from Mr Hill asking Council to have 15 to 20 chains of road work done on the main road, west of the railway line Cummins. Reply to be sent the Overseer will look into the matter on his next visit of inspection.

Road Rollers Letters & questions received for same. Moved that a three cylinder road roller 3 ' diameter 2 ' wide (as per blue print No 1747) with brake be delivered Jetty at Pt Lincoln. Carried.

"Transfer of Lands" From W Higgins 383, D, 279/382 Hd Louth to WJ Higgins . Will. From EM Johnson Lot 29 of 2 W Cummins to AK Henderson £12 Moved by Cr Morgan that the Clerk be authorised to make the necessary alterations in the Assessment book, 2nd Cr Simes & Carried.

Application to erect a Gate across road from A Tucknott. Council grant permission at usual conditions.

Bridge at Warunda Creek. Letter received from JS King stating bridge over Warunda Creek burnt down. Resolved that Overseer inspect same & have the necessary repairs carried out.

Cr Simes asked that two pipes be put in two places one 9 inches & one 12 inches. Granted.

Cr Morgan asked that 10 to 12 chains of road be made North of the Lady Franklin Mine. Granted.

Cr Hall asked that the scrub each side of the road be rolled down on the road from Edillilie to Yeelanna. Asked that information regarding the Edillilie Cemetery be ascertained.

Cr Puckridge asked that 15 chains of metalling to be done on the road from Warrow to Cummins on the side the load comes on. Overseer to inspect same.
