Meeting of Council held August 16th 1901 Present: Crs Dorward (Chairman) Bruce Barraud Puckridge & OShanahan Minutes of last meeting read & Confirmed Balance sheets & Auditors reports read by the Chairman Cr O'Shanahan prop Cr Puckridge seconded Balance sheets & Auditors report to be adopted as read (Carried) Cr Bruce prop Cr Puckridge seconded that vouchers that had been missing be laid on the table next meeting. (Carried) Financial Statements read by the Chairman Cr O'Shanahan prop Cr Puckridge sec that members for the District be written to asking them to try and get Netting granted forwarded at once. Carried Correspondence From Messrs McKenzie & Mortlock M.P. advising that advance grant of £250 would be paid to Councils credit also that Government would be willing to accept the full payment of Wire Netting at any time if all interests were fully paid up From J Sinclair & others asking for repairs to road from S E Corner Section No 75 Hd Lin towards Green Patch. Cr Bruce prop Cr Puckridge seconded that the road be attended to. Carried From Lawrie Bros & others asking for grubbing to be done on road near Tumby Jetty and leading towards Point Bolingbroke

Cr Barraud prop Cr O'Shanahan sec that tenders be called for next meeting Overseer also to report. Carried From C H Swaffer drawing attention to overgrowth of prickly acacia on Park Lands and some district Roads and suggesting same should be cleared. Cr. Bruce prop Cr Puckridge sec that tenders becalled for work next meeting Carried Fron C Fox resigning position of Pound Keeper Lincoln Pound. Cr Bruce prop Cr Puckridge sec that resignation be accepted and G Lynn be appointed Poundkeeper Carried From E. A Leane Secretary Flinders Vermin Board advising that copy of resolutions at Ratepayers Meeting had been read at the Boards meeting and held over until new Board was elected. Clerk to forward letter to R E Sullivan. From McFarlane Bros asking for official reply to letter forwarded dated June 7th also enclosing cheque for £5.10.0 that was paid them as half of Balance of I Halls Junrs Contract Cr Bruce prop Cr Barraud sec that Mr G Crawford be requested to refund to this Council the sum of £5.10.0 paid him as the other half as balance of I Halls Junrs Contract and to be notified that

Cr Puckridge prop Cr O'Shanahan sec that appeals (if any) against the assessment be held at the Council Chamber September 20th at 11 o'clock a.m. Carried Cr O'Shanahan prop Cr Barraud sec that Mrs W Carr Yarandale Mrs Doudle Coulta Miss Hawson Lake Wangary be authorised to issue depasturing licenses. Carried Cr Puckridge prop Cr Barraud sec that Council obtain phosphorous to be supplied to rateppayers at cost price. Carried Cr Bruce prop Cr Puckridge sec that the Council purchase one Crockspora Torpedo for injecting Bi Sulphid Carbon same to be leased out to ratepayers at 1/- week. Carried Overseers Report read re Bernards Work Cr Bruce prop Cr O'Shanahan see that the Contractor be allowed to give an explanation. Carried. Mr Bernard explained his case Cr Puckridge prop Cr Barraud sec if Bernard does not proceed on Monday next to complete his work to the satisfaction of the Overseer the Council will do the work at his expense. Cr Puckridge prop Cr Barraud sec that Bernard get notice of resolution passed at the meeting Overseer to point out what is necessary to be done before Contract can be passed. Carried Cr Bruce prop Cr Puckridge sec that in future if contracts are not carried out strictly to specification Overseer to stop the work at once.
