Minutes of District Council Meeting held 21st January 1922

Present Jas O'Shanahan (in the chair) Crs Hall, Simes Puckridge, & Morgan Chairman apologised for Cr McFarlanes absence. Balance Sheets for ½ Year ending 31.12.21 & Auditors Report The following half yearly Balance Sheets were submitted & read, General Funds, Wire Netting A/c, & Govt Grants A/c, & Auditors report thereon. Moved by the Chairman " That the Balance sheets & Auditors report be adopted " 2nd by Cr Puckridge and carried.

Minutes of Previous meeting read & confirmed. Financial Statement submitted & read. Correspondence. D/Councils Assn Letter from the Secretary in reference to resisting the L.G.O's Log. Councils resisting to bear cost of same pro-rata.

Cut-out Envelopes. Letter from local Postmaster re use of same.

Destitute Board. Letter from the Chairman informing Clerk that S.J.Wyatt's tender for supply of rations to Destitute persons in the District had been accepted.

Secretary for Lands. Letter acknowledging cheque for £50 on A/c wire netting instalments.

Associated Publishing Service Letter in reference to publishing a Book "Civic administration of S.A. 1921-22" & requesting information for same. Available information to be sent . Ascertain if Mayor has received similar communication

Local Govt.Department Letter from the Secretary drawing attention of Council to D/Council's Amendment Act No 1485 of 1921

L.G.O.'s Assn. Letter from Secretary enclosing a list of questions to be supplied by Council, in regard to resisting Log.

A.L. Hill Offer from A.L. Hill for three chains work on Cummins Main Road Moved by Cr Hall That the offer be accepted @ £20. work to be finished before the winter. 2nd Cr Simes & carried

Electric Lighting Resolved Letter from Town Clerk, Port Lincoln, regarding lighting for part of Township Reply to be sent Council would agree to have four lights. Carried

Corporation re Lamps. Letter from Town Clerk asking for permission to use lamps belonging to the District Council. Resolved that permission be granted, without predjudice to any claims the District Council may have to the property, for a period of two months. carried.

Overseers Report submitted & Read.

Moved by Cr Hall That O/S' report as read, with exception of letting contracts, be adopted. 2nd by Cr Morgan & carried.
