Minutes of Meeting held 17th July 1908 Annual meeting

Returning officer Reported that WJ Morgan had been elected unopposed, for Warrow Ward & Samuel Brougham had been elected unopposed as auditor. That an Election by ballot had taken place on 4th July resulting in the election of A. Scott Jr. for Mitchell Ward W Mitchel for Mortlock Ward & R Puckridge for Lincoln Election of Chairman--- Moved by Cr Puckridge Seconded by Cr. OShanahan that W Bruce be Chairman for ensueing Term Carried Balance Sheets for General---- Main Road-----Wire Netting Building fund with Auditors Report read Moved by Cr Bruce Seconded by Cr Puckridge that the Balance Sheets with Auditors report be adopted as read- Carried Letter from Private Secretary re visit of His Excellency Moved by Cr Puckridge 2nd by Cr Morgan that the matter of Entertaining be left in the Hands of Chairman & Clerk- Carried Wire recd from West Coast stating great damage had been done to the Road through heavy rainsC.L. Office stating assessment of Grand Hotel was required for Licences requesting form to befilled inVarley & Evan--- re Asshetons proposition to build bowling green, cannot be granted at present New act going to be introduced giving power to grant leases of certain Land that will be under Councils ControlS.
