Minutes of Meeting held Mar 17th 11 Minutes of Meeting held March 17th 1911. Present all. Cr Bruce in the chair. Minutes of last meeting read and confirmed. The Chairman stated that he had been to Adelaide. Had interviewed the Coms of Crown Lands, who stated that £1500 had been granted for Main Roads, and that he also promised to give as much as he could on Account A. He also spoke to Coms with reference to the approaches to the Poonindie Bridge; and further suggested that the Gov be approached with respect to having stone facings to be built to the approaches to the Bridge. Cr Secombe moved and Cr Morgan seconded ( motion re Poonindie Bridge) That a note of appreciation be passed on the chairman for the success he obtained in his interview with the Comr of Crown Lands, and further moved that the Clerk write to the Comr with reference to havine stone facings added to the approaches of the new Bridge at Poonindie. Carried Private correspondence read by the chairman, also letters received by Clerk, re Wire-netting Statements and Loans. A Statement of Wire Netting Loans and A/cs submitted, amount returnable to Govt upon same being £209-14-11. The chairman suggested that an audit take place to clear up, and balance all books with view of giving new Clerk a clean start. (Motion re audit of books) Cr Secombe moved that an Auditor be appointed with a view of having a special audit of the books. (Seconded by Cr Parker. Carried Letter re renewal of Fidelity Insurance Garrantee Policy renewal read, decided that same be renewed.

Minutes of Meeting held March 17 th 1911 contd Correspondence Letter read re "Noxious Weed Letter from Comr Crown Lands re Sparrow Destruction Act, asking active steps to be taken with view of enforcing the Act. Cr Secombe moved that the matter stand over until next meeting. Letter from Vacuum Oil Co re double payment of an account, Amount to stand to Cr of the Council until a further supply of Oil is necessary. Letter read re Road along Railway Terrace Cummins asking that fifteen chains may be formed and made. (Rd at Cummins) Cr Cronin moved and Cr Puckridge seconded that fifteen chains be made, and Tenders be called, the same to be handed in within fourteen days. Any Councillor present to open at the end of that time, to open and attend to same. Carried Statement submitted and read re Wire Netting A/cs showing amounts collected and amount in arrears Tumby Bay W. N. A/cs Cr Secombe moved and Cr Puckridge seconded that Clerk send a/cs to all persons owing Wire Netting A/cs at Tumby Bay with notification that same must be paid within seven days or legal action will be taken. Carried Letter and Act submtted re construction of Private Railways. (Rd Dutton Bay) Cr Morgan moved that sand on main at Dutton Bay Junction be removed and metal be placed upon same and road raised & Drain at Warrow Hotel to be (Drain at Warrow Hotel)

Meeting held March 17th Contd.

to be repaired. Cr Puckridge Seconded. Carried Repairs to Green Patch Rd to Whites Flat and Charlton Rd Cr Parker moved that the road between Green Patch and Whites Flat be repaired by daymen. That five chains of cutting be done on the Road on the South side of Dorwards property, and also fifteen chains of gravelling on Charlton Gully road. Seconded by Cr Secombe. carried

Report from Overseer to be furnished. Moved by Cr Morgan, seconded by Cr Puckridge that Overseer furnish a Report on Road from Tonta Swamp and Wangary. carried Cr Secombe called attention to holes near Methodist Church, culverts on North Shields Rd, and also to portions of West Road. Cr Parker endorsed Cr Secombes remarks re North Road as far as Poonindie Bridge. Picket Fence Show Grounds On Cr Secombes suggestion, supported by the Chairman, Overseer to report on condition of Picket Fence along Tasman Terrace, and also the fence around the Agricultural Show Grounds. Cr Secombe moved and Cr Morgan seconded that Tenders be called for painting the picket fence along Tasman Terrace. Carried Cr Cronin called attention to holes made by contractors along Main Rds Cummins by carting away sand Overseer to attend to same. Letter from O Blackman re increase in salary Lamp Lighting The chairman read letter received from O Blackman re a rise in remuneration for his work in lighting street lamps, and asked that the prices be raised from 35/- per lamp per annum to £2 per lamp, and also asked that

a rise of £4 to £5 per annum be granted for looking after the Council Gas plant. The Chairman moved that his request be granted in regard to the lamps, but not for the Generator. Cr Secombe seconded. carried

Tenders for Contracts were opened and considered, and upon motion moved by Cr Morgan and Seconded by Cr Secombe. the following Tenderers were alotted the separate tenders. Carried.

Overseers Report read.

Rds on Haighs property Cr Secombe moved, Cr Parker seconded that Mr J Haigh be notified that unless the rates for leased roads through his property be paid all such roads must be thrown open. Carried Cr Secombe moved, Cr Parker seconded that the Report by Overseer be adopted as read. Carried

£120 transfd to W.N.A/c Cr Secombe moved that £120 be removed from General A/c, and placed to Credit of Wire-Netting A/c Cr Puckridge seconded. Carried.

£300 sent to Govt Cr Secombe moved. Cr Parker seconded that £300 be paid to Govt on Wire Netting A/c Carried.

Cr Secombe moved, Cr Puckridge seconded that A/cs in arrears on all Wire Nettings A/cs be rendered, same to be endorsed to effect, that if same be not paid within seven days, legal action will be taken. The rate of 5% to be charged on all such a/cs. Carried.

The chairman instructed Clerk to make application to Bank of Adelaide for amount owing on Merchant estate. The mintes were then read and meeting adjourned.
