Minutes of Meeting of the District Council of Lincoln held 19th March 1927

Present Crs O'Shanahan (Chairman) Simes, Puckridge, Morgan, Siviour

Supplementary Election The Returning Officer stated that as no more than the required number of nominations had been received for Councillor for Mortlock Ward, Mr H.J. Blacker was declared duly elected.

Finnancial Statement submitted

Correspondence P.S. Sinclair Reply received from Mr Sinclair stating he is willing to buy the road applied for @ £2/2/- per acre.

Federal Aid Road Grant Letter from Secry Local Govt. Dept. re Tender for Contract 18 Road No 99

Commissioner of Highways Letter, with plans of various hundreds in the districts, received. Plans to be marked showing approximate acreage of land in each section not under cultivation. Length of Roads, other than main, & Federal Aid Roads to be given.

Particulars to be obtained from Inspector Aylng.

C.J. Whillas Letter requessting Council to repair roads stated therin, received.

Work has been carried out.

Inspector W.T. Ayling wrote advising he would inspect Federal work on 26th or 28th inst

W. Muir. McFarlane Letter from Mr McFarlane applying to Council to close roads between sections 140 & 141 Hd Lincoln, & Sections 52 & 57, 54/58, 55/69 56/60 Hd Lincoln

Moved by Cr Simes that the roads between sections named be sold to Mr McFarlane at £5 per acre; & all costs connected with closing same & conveying title be borne by him. Seconded by Cr Puckridge. Carried.

Cr Puckridge asked that the overseer give a report on the Road from Cummins to Two Wells. Tires Moved by Cr Puckridge seconded by Cr Simes that no contract be accepted; after May 1927, unless the contractor uses a vehicle with a tire not less than four inches. Carried. Cr Morgan asked that a piece of road be repaired; nearly on boundary between Hds Wangary & Warrow, towards G. Puckridge

Cr Simes asked that a set of pipes be put on the Koppio mail Road, near K.S. McFarlanes Pipes to be put in. The top of well at Pearlah requires renewing. Work to be done. Rubbish from P Lincoln being dumped along Old West Road. Notice to be put in the paper, & police informed.

Cr Morgan referred to the matter of some persons disfiguring sign boards, & mile posts. Notice to be put in the paper, warning that any person found doing so will be prosecuted.

Overseer's report read. Moved by Cr Puckridge that the Overseer's report as read be adopted, seconded Cr Simes. Carried.

Tenders opened & considered. No 21 H.G Lowe & J.G. Anderson £5 A.P. Quinn £4.10 Moved Cr Morgan seconded Cr H.J. Blacker that A.P. Quinn's tender be accepted. Carried
