Minutes of District Council Meeting held 21st March 1925

Present: Chairman (Jas O'Shanahan) Crs Simes, Puckridge, Morgan & Hall.

Financial statement submitted.

Correspondence Dept Lands & Survey Letter from the Secretary, requesting that this office will advise them where wire netting on Section 25 Hd Cummins is.

Reply to be sent that the Council do not know where the netting is.

Local Govt. Dept. Letter from the Director replying that this Councils request for an increased Main Road Grant, cannot be recommended at present.

Lands above High Water mark Reply from the Secretary Local Govt Department re same.

Destitute Board Letter from the Director informing Clerk that Mr J R Venning's tender to supply rations to destitute persons had been accepted.

Slaughter Licence Application received from Mr J C Harder. Moved by Cr Simes, that Mr Harder be granted a Slaughter Licence, 2nd Cr Hall. Carried. Standards Office Letter from the Warden of Standards forwarding Certificate certifying that the weights of this Council have been made correct.

Moved by Cr Simes that the fine on rates stand as it is . 2nd. Cr Puckridge. Carried

MrA L Hill Mr Hill wrote regarding offensive rubbish thrown on side of road.

Mr W A Walkom Letter from Mr Walkom stating that the road from Cummins to the pipe line is badly cut up, requires repairing.

Juvenile Lodges Letter from Mr R S Argent asking Council to reconsider their decision to discontinue renting Hall for Juvenile lodge meetings. Resolved Council adhere to their former decision.

Mr W J Kennett Letter received re payment for work done. Reply to be sent that the Council consider that as their Overseer did not authorise the work, no payment is due for same.

Applicatios to close Roads Moved by Cr Hall that Mr E E Chapman & R H Chapman be written to informing them that £20, plus expenses, will be charged for the roads they ask to have closed. 2nd Cr Puckridge & carried.

Section 65 Hd Wanilla Moved by Cr Hall that the Govt be written to asking, when, & why Section 65 Hd Wanilla was sold. 2nd Cr Puckridge. Carried
