District Council of Lincoln

Minutes of Meeting March 28th 1913.

Present Crs OShanahan, Secombe, Palm, Morgan and Puckridge. Clerk informed the Councillors present that the Chairman Mr JD Bruce was unable to be present. Moved by Cr Morgan } that Cr OShanahan be Seconded " Cr Puckridge} Chairman for present meeting Carried.

Books with their respective Balances submitted and read.

Telegrams received from Cr JD Bruce, Chairman, re Special Main Road Grant of £550.

Moved by Cr Secombe } That Clerk make an application Seconded " Morgan } for the Special Grant forthwith. Carried.

Telegram received from Messrs Varley & Evan stating that Court Case Dist Council V. Hawson & Miller has been adjourned till May 26th inst.

Letter received from Mr Dick re fencing allotments owned by Bank of Adelaide at Yeelanna. Noted

Letter from Mr McDonald of Warunda, asking permission to place bees on land near deviation of Road, South of section 102 Hd. Mortlock.

Moved by Cr Palm ) that request be granted; all responsibility Seconded. " Secombe) to be borne by applicant. Carried.

Letters Received from CE. Schwerdt and others re extension of time of payment of Rates and Wire netting dues.

Letter from Mr Ayliffe, Surveyor, giving quotation for Survey of Lincoln Cemetry, also drew attention to the fact that several of the trees would have to be grubbed out and branches hindering survey cut.

Moved by Cr Secombe ) that the OVerseer have the she-oaks Seconded by Cr Morgan) etc grubbed. That Tenders be called for the Survey by next meeting. Carried.

Letter and A/c. received from Mr SH Ayliffe in connection with work already completed by him.

Letter from Surveyor General re the opening and closing of Roads, that same would have to be readvertised. Noted

Letter from District Council Burnside re making of Roads and footpaths within area of newly Surveyed Townships. That owners subdividing land for this purpose should bear the cost of such, that the District Councils Act be amended so

that Councils within Metropolitan Area can recover on same. Further they asked that Council support said amendt.

Moved by Cr Secombe } that the support of this Council Seconded Cr Palm } be given. Carried Correspondence re Supply of Dog Discs for ensuing year received Clerk stated that he had already made application for supply needed.

Letter from Crown Lands Office notifying Council that the balance of Main Road Grant had been paid into Councils credit amount of £ 675

Letter from Comr Crown Lands re account A Vouchers, with copy of Letter forwarded by Clerk with reference to same.

Letter re Transfer of Tumby Bay disputed Vermin Fencing Loans, stating that the same cannot be trans ferred back to this Council, and that an adjustment would have to be effected between the two Councils interested.

Report received from Clerk re position of Wire Netting A/c on 17 Febry 1913

Report received from Clerk re portion of List ofArrears as furnished by Audit Dept.

Moved by Cr Morgan } Report to be held over till next meeting Secd by Cr Secombe } when the matter will be dealt with Carried

Cr Secombe drew attention to noxious Weed " St John's Wort" on allotments North Main Road, and moved that Notices be served on owners to destroy same. Seconded by Cr Palm. Carried

Cr Morgan moved } that Tenders be called for 15 chains " Puckridge Seconded } of road between Dutton Bay Footbridge and Lake Wangary. Tenders to be in by next meeting. Carried

Cr Puckridge moved } that 4 chains of road be made Cr Morgan Seconded } opposite Mount Hope Post Office, Tenders to be called by next meeting Carried

Cr Secombe drew attention to the fact that Liverpool St should be re metalled as under promise last year, and moved that alternate Tenders be called for 20 & 30 feet for full length thereof be called by next meeting Cr Palm Seconded Carried

Crs Puckridge & Morgan voted against same.
