Minutes of District Council Meeting held 20th May 1922 Present Cr Jas O'Shanahan ( in the chair) Crs Simes, McFarlane, Morgan, & Puckridge & Hall. Minutes of Previous meeting read & confirmed. Financial Statement for past month submitted.

Correspondence Sections 56/7. 60 Hd Wanilla From the Secretary for lands stating that application to transfer Sections 56/7, & 60 Hd Wanilla had been receeived, & asked what instalments were due on Vermin Loans. Reply sent 26/4/22, all paid.

Section 15 Hd Sleaford From the same office stating that application to transfer Sect 15 Hd Sleaford, had been received & asked what amounts were owing for Vermin Loans. Reply sent 17/5/22 all paid.

Fencing Loan From the Secry for Lands, informing Clerk that application for £40 under the Fencing Act had been recommended.

Main Road Grant Special Letter from the Secry Local Govt Dept informing Clerk that a special Grant of £200 had been granted for construction work on roads in the hundreds of Shannon & Cummins.

Number Crs Lincoln Ward. Letter from thye Secry Local Govt Department regarding same.

Wire Netting Instalments. Letter from the Secry Lands acknowledging cheque £190 on a/c wire netting instalments.

WD Tonkin Letter from Mr Tonkin re Section 20 Hd Mortlock. Section 23 Hd Mort. Letter from Messrs Barwell, Kelly , & Hague inn reference to CH Smith application to remove netting from Sect 23 Hd Mortlock to Sect 18 Polkagee. Moved by Cr Simes that CH Smith be given permission to remove the netting from Sect 23 Hd Mortlock 2nd Cr Hall & Carried Wire netting Instalments Letter from Mrs E Slater, & T Quinn re payment of wire netting instalments due also PJ Cockburn. FW Flavel Letters from Mr Flavel dated 28/4/22, 5/5/22 and 12/5/22 in reference to wire netting liability Sections 52,53,& 44N Hd Wanilla. E & F Ward Letter from Messrs E & F Ward to Clerk regarding wire netting instalments due Mr Shepherd to collect same. Council Rates. Letters from HJ Macklin, & JF Carter regarding payment of same. Boy Immigrants to Farms Circulars received from State Immigration Office referring to same. Clerk to see the Town Clek about the matter. Moved by Cr Hall, that the District Council form a committee to deal with the matter with the power to form a subsidiary committee outside, 2nd Cr Puckridge & carried.

F Voumard Letter from Mrs Voumard in reference to Contract work in Mitchell Ward.

Pound Cummins. Letter received from Mr PDS Cooper regarding rent of Pound Yard, Cummins. Mr Cooper to be written to to ask what remuneration he requires.

Wire Netting £335 Secry for Lands. 3/6 Exchange = £335-3-6 Moved by Cr Morgan that the accounts as read be passed for payment 2nd by Cr McFarlane & Carried.

Retirement of Councillors & Auditor Clerk stated that Crs Morgan, Warrow Ward, Hall, Mortlock Ward, McFarlane Lincoln Ward, & O Blackman, Auditor retire by effluxion of time.

Elections Moved by Cr Morgan that EH Beckwith be appointed Returning Officer for the forthcoming elections for Councillors & Auditor, at usual fees, 2nd by Cr Simes & carried.

Valuation of Assets. Letter from the Town Clerk in reference to valuation of Assets. Mr McFarlane to be asked to adjust his valuation with Mr Bruce's.

Contract Winters Hill. Letter from HE Merchant applying for three weeks extension of time on Contract at Winters Hill. Granted.

Overseers Report Read. Moved by Cr Puckridge, that the Overseers Report as read be accepted . 2nd Cr Simes & Carried.

Cr Simes drew attention to the state of parts of the road between Little Swamp & Green Patch on the Koppio Mail route. Also a piece of road by A Whillas' & Big Swamp. Overseer to inspect same.

Cr Hall stated that holes on the track on Yallunda Flat Road East of Cummins needed attending to. Work to be done.

Cr O'Shanahan asked if the Council would give him permission to authorise the Police to destroy all stray dogs at Tod River works, @ 5/- per head. Moved by Cr Hall that Cr O'Shanahan be authorised to do this, 2nd Cr Puckridge & carried.

Clerk & Overseer. Moved by Cr Hall that applications be called for same from the June meeting & decided at the meeting in July.
