Gov Well 21 MP. Moved by Cr Morgan. That the Gov well near the 21st mile post be cleaned out. Also that the 6th mile post be reerected. Sec by Cr Hartley. Carried.

Cemetery. Moved by Cr Garrett. That the resolution passed by the Council on Dec 19th 1913. Closing all portions of the Port Lincoln Cemetery from future Burials, Except the newly Surveyed & numbered block in the old portion be strictly carried into effect & That a committee consisting of the two Councillors for Lincoln Ward, together with the Overseer, Be appointed to draw up a report on the Administration of the Cemetery, With regards to future improvements thereto. Sec by Cr Hartley. Carried.

Motion Re Overcost. Moved by Cr Garrett, That the Clerk be instructed not to supply any Wire netting to petitioners costing more than the loan granted for the purpose. Unless payment of the amount of overcost be paid before delivery. Sec by Cr Morgan. carried.

Motion Re Gravel. Moved by Cr Garrett, That the two Town Councillors together with the Overseer be appointed a committee. To inquire into the matter of Supplying Gravel for the purpose of road making in the neighborhood of the Township & report on same with a view of preventing the present haphazard method of defaceing properties, Sec by Cr Hartley. Carried.

WN Purchase. Moved by Cr Garrett, That the Clerk be instructed to obtain quotation for Wire netting from more than one firm besides the government, before purchasing Netting for the petitioners & to purchase in the cheapest market, having due regards to quality - Sec by Cr Hall. carried.

Motion Re Lamps. Moved by Cr Garrett, That the Overseer be instructed to see that the Contractor for Lamplighting Carry out the duties more satisfactorily, & refrain from lighting them at such an early hour as it the custom at present & That the Overseer draws up satisfactory Conditions to be signed by the Contractor & carried out. Sec by Cr Hartley. Carried.

Re Bathing. Moved by Cr Garrett, That the Overseer be requested to look into the matter of bathing regulations, & report to the next meeting as to the advisability of alterations & additions to same, For the better Control of the pastime. Sec by Cr Hartley. Carried.

Arrears of rates on Allotments. Moved by Cr Garrett, That in view of the fact That statements have been made, That certain allotments are held in the town upon which arrears of rates have not been paid. The Clerk be instructed to make a thorough investigation of the various Assessment Books since the inception of the District Council Concerning all the lands within the District & report on the amount of rates not collected in past years, on neach allotment or Section. Together with the total number of Allotments & Sections jumped by payment of DC Rates. & the names of those in possession of such Sec by Cr Hall. Carried

Ranger. Moved by Cr Garrett That the Overseer be appointed Ranger without further fuss. Sec Cr Hartley. Carried.

O/S Report. The Overseers report was then read & discussed. Motion. Moved by Cr Hartley, That the report be adopted with the exception of the 103 chs of metalling & watering gravel on the North road. Sec by Cr Hall. Carried

Account. The various a/cs were then read by the Chairman. Main Rd 87-14-4 A.c A 59-17-6 General Funds 127-15-1 Moved by Cr Morgan, That the accounts as read be passed for payment. Sec by Cr Puckridge. Carried.

Grader. The Overseer submitted a report on work done by the grader

Tenders . The Tenders were then opened & considered. Moved by Cr Hall, That RR Lakins tender for Contract No 13 @ 1/4/- per chain & WA Dorwards Tender for Contract No 14 @ 1/8 per chain be accepted. Sec by Cr Morgan. carried

Minutes were then read & meeting adjourned.

9840 to 10321 why ?

The District Council's Act 1914. Provides that Chairman of District Council's shall be elected in the manner suscribed by a regulation published in the Government Gazette. At the first meeting of the Council this month a Councillor must be chosen by show of hands to preside over the election of Chairman, and one of the Councillors must be proposed and seconded as Chairman. If only one proposal is made that member shall be declared elected but if more than one a ballot must be held and he who obtains most votes shall be declared elected.
