Letter From overseer stating that on account of Mrs. Swaffers illness he was unable to attend the meeting.

Letter From A.E. Hamilton re Fenwicks Rates Wire From Sec Crown lands re subsidy Letter from A.B.Gosdon re Contract Hd Ulipa. Circular from C.H.Smith re Implements for Road Making. Letter from Sec to Surveyor general re opening & Closing of roads in Hd Louth & Shannon.

Meeting 16/10/14 Continued

Legal Opinion From Messrs Joyner Shepherd & Phillips re wire netting on forfeited lands Subsidy Letter from Crown Lands Office stating that subsidy had been paid into bank.

Accounts Accounts were then read by the Chairman General Funds 179-8-1 Main Road a/e 101-3-9 Account A 121-12-0 Wire Netting Purchase a/c 233-9-6

Proposed by Cr Hall } That the accounts as read Seconded by Cr Hartley } be passed for payment . Carried

H. Langford Contract Cr. Hall drew attention to H Langfords contract at Edilillie. Same had not been started

Moved by Cr. Hall } That the contract be Sec by Cr Puckridge} cancelled & fresh tenders be called for next meeting. Carried

Holes in Rd Cr. Hall drew attention holes in road near Mr. Roes Resolved that Cr. Hall have same attended to

Simpson Rd Cr. Hall asked for information as to what had been done re opening road at Pillana. Resolved that Cr. Hall

Meeting 16/10/14 Continued get all particulars re cost of same & submit same at the next meeting

Councillor Hartley asked permission to have a few loads of stone placed on road on west side of railway bridge & grabbing from A Cabots to Crawfords also to have old tank placed on the bench for broken bottles & ect resolved that o/s to have same attended

Cr. Hartley asked if the Council was going to prosecute the person who had taken gravel from off Washington St. Chairman stated that the council had not sufficient evidence to go on.

O/S Report The overseers report was then read

Lamps Resolved that notice be inserted in the Recorder that any person found tampering with lamps would be prosecuted.

Returned Sur Chairman read statement of returned wire netting surpluses

Meeting 16/10/14 Continued Tenders Tenders were then opened & considered Moved by Cr.Hall } That the following be the successful Sec by Cr. Hartley} tenderers. Contract No.10 I Halls @ 9/11 per ch Cont No 11 P A Molloy @ £2/17/6 per ch. Cont No.12 M.T. Morgan @ / per ch. Carried

Election Moved by Cr. Hall } That nomination day be fixed Seconded by Cr. Puckridge} for Nov 5th & that IO Jacobs be appointed returning officer @ £2-2-0 Carried Notice Notice of apointment of Chairman of Elections be inserted in Gov Gazette
