Financial Statement showed a credit Bal of £3402.19.5

Correspondence - Cape Lily Noxious Weed Minister of Agriculture advising that 'Cape Lily' is one of a group species which also includes 'Black eyed Swan and Rock Lilley and under the Botanical name of "Omithogalum thyrsoides" they are all declared as "Noxious Weeds" . See Gazette 8/2/34.

Highways Dept - That money will be made available for Road from M Rd No 9 to Edillilie under the 5 year plan when the necessary Plant & Labour are available. Received

Grant Charlton Gully Road Also that approval has been given for £200 Grant for Charlton Gully Road, provided Council will also spend £200 on it. - This amount to be paid into the Gov Grants A/c.

Camp Site Director of Lands advised that ⅛ acre camp site and Shack at Kellidie Bay had been transferred from C F Harder to H Merchant as from 1/10/46.

Road repairs Hd Kiana H & N Ness and J R Winstanley wrote re state of road from Main Road To H Ness and requesting that this be repaired. Resolved that this be done as soon as possible.

Moving House A Waters requested permission to move a 4 Roomed Wood & Iron House From Wudinna to Lot 43 Cummins - Clerk to reply that Council have no objection to the removal.

Re Road to Sec 13 Mortlock A G Strudwick in reply to Council letter - Stating that he intended fencing off the road to Section 13 Hd Mortlock as soon as fencing material is available. This was left to Cr Ford to interview both Mr Nelligan and Strudwick in reference to this road.

Re Fire Fighting Committee requests Secy EP Central Bush F/F Committee - submitted several requests to Council. 1. That Council Insure 6 men against accident while Fire Fighting on a Group System in addition to Fire Controller. 2. That Council allocate a similar amount from Rates to credit of each Ward for F.F. purposes as was done last year from Rates. 3. That Fire Controller at Hd Lake Wangary be supplied with knapsack sprays. 4. That 10/- per annum from each Ward funds be advanced to their Committee for petty expenses. No 1. When previously applied to Insurance Coy. they required names of Specific persons supplied- Clerk to again approach the Insurance Coy in the matter. 2. This cannot now be done as no rate was declared for that purpose this year. 3. The previous Fire Controller for Lake Wangary be written to requesting the return of the knapsacks at once. 4. The request be granted.

Licence D Harris Supt Soldiers Settlement advised that D Harris has again been granted a licence to occupy Sec 41 Hd Kiana for 12 months from 1.11.46. Donation Minda Home Secy Minda Home Inc requested the Coucils Donation for current year _ Proposed Cr Richardson, Sec Cr Smith, That the Council donate £2.2.0 to Minda Home. Carried

Auditors Report N V Jacobs Council Auditor sumbitted his report on the Annual Audit of Council Books. Received

Pt Lincoln Branch Agriculture Bureau again requested Council to apply to Government to have the plant "Salvation Jane" declared a Noxious Weed in the Council Area. Prop Cr Richardson Sec Cr Smith, That Council request the Government to declare "Salvation Jane" a Noxious Weed in this Council Area. This was defeated on the casting vote of the Chairman. Road to be Closed Coomunga. Telfer Bros requesting the Council to take the necessary steps to close the road between Section 151B and 152. on the Western side of Coomunga Siding which divides their property. Prop Cr Woods, Sec Cr Doudle, That Council agree to the Closing of this road and the land being sold or leased to Telfer Bros. Carried. Land for Rubbish Depot Cummins. FL Fuss Offered 6 to 8 acres of land in Section 68 Hd Cummins @ £6 per acres to the Council for a dry Rubbish Depot. The Council to pay all survey and other expenses incurred in the transfer, and to Fence the land with sheep proof fence. And leave a strip of Trees round the area. Prop Cr Smith, Sec Cr Richardson, That Council purchase this land from FL Fuss @ £6 per acres on Conditions stated in the offer. Carried.

Road Repairs Uley KJ Hyde & GB Ritchie offered to advance £50 to be credited to Rates in Advance, if Council will contribute £50 to be spent in improvements to the road to Uley Homestead. Resolved that the offer cannot be accepted as rates cannot be collected in advance of current year.

Re Sand Director of Lands in reference to sand from Sec 76 Hd Mortlock for Waterworks Department.

Re E.R.T.A.C. Chairman Liquid Fuel Control Bd to AH Taylor, Thanking all members of Local Emergency Road Transport Committee for the voluntary assistance given to the Board in connexion with Petrol & Tyre rationing, and Stating that the Committee would cease to act on 30th September.

Re Closing Roads Tallala Secy A Tennant Estate Requesting that roads through the Tallala Estate Hd Louth be closed, and asking what proceeding is to be observed to effect same. This was held over for a report. Town Planners Report Prop Cr Ford, Sec Cr Smith, That Town Planner be requested to submit his report on Cummins Town at an early date. Requests. Secy Yeelanna Hall Trust requested that improvements be made by grading etc, Cranston Street from Smith St to Bell Terrace. This was left to Overseer to attend to. Yeelanna Cemetery Secy Yeelanna Agriculture Bureau 1. That Council clear and improve the condition of Yeelanna Cemetery- Left to Councillor & Overseer to arrange. Straighten Road. 2. That road by Railway Cottages be straightened out by purchasing a small portion of Sec 1. to make it more safe to traffic. Overseer to confer with Highways Inspector.

Drains 3. That several drains be modified or made into Spoon drains, viz to Yeelanna dam., road NW from Yeelanna and m Yeelanna to Ungarra Road near Sec. These were left to Overseer.

Overseers Report was read. Prop Cr Smith Sec Cr Doudle, That Overseers Report as read be adopted. Carried. Prop Cr Woods, Sec Cr Richardson, That Highways Dept be written to pointing out that there are a number of bad broken patches in the Bitumen on Main West Road that need immediate attention, also that the Council recommends that Warning "Danger Signs" be erected at each approach to Whites River Bridge. Carried.

Clerk was instructed to write to Corporation of PL. -asking when Corporation Road Plant will be available for repairs to Winters Hill Road as promised by their representatives at the deputation to the Council on 12th July. Cr Ford requested the use of Council Grader to help level the Tennis Courts. Also that permission be given for pipes to be extended to the Tumby Bay Road where trees are planted to enable them to be watered. Also that repairs be done to the road to Traegers and also to Badmans. These were all granted. Cr Richardson requested permission for repairs to be done by D Dorward to road to Schramms. Granted. Also that the road to T Proudes be graded when plant available. Granted. Tyres for Grader Patrol Overseer reported that he had ordered New Tyres for Patrol Grader as the ones now on require renewing.
