Minutes District Council meeting held October 28th 1922 Present Cr Jas O'Shanahan (in the chair) Crs Simes, Puckridge, Morgan. Minutes of previous meeting read & confirmed. Financial Statement for past month submitted. Correspondence. Section 45 Hd Mortlock. Letter from Secretary for Lands informing Clerk it is intended to cancel Section 45 Hd Mortlock. Section 141 Hd warrow Letter received from the Secry for Lands stating that application for permission to transfer Section 141 Hd Warrow had been received & asked what amounts were due for Vermin Loans. Reply sent all paid to 1/2/22

Machine for Rabbit destruction Letter received from Mr J Mitchell in reference to the above.

Tender AL Hill Request from A.L.Hill that 20 chains road work done on main road west of Cummins, & tender for doing same. O/seer to inspect & report on same by next meeting.

Petition received from several ratepayers to have the road beside sections 322 & 323 Hd Louth, attended to. Daywork to be done, & tender called for work at the top of the hill.

Commonwealth Road Grant Letter received from Secry L. Govt Dept regarding the allocation of the above. Also from Mr RH Chapman in reference to the matter.

Mr T Duffield. Valedictory letter received from Mr Duffield on the closing of his career as Secretary of the Local Govt Department. Letter also received from Mr Duffield to say that he is prepared to continue his relations with Local Authorities in a present capacity for a nominal fee of £1-1-0 Moved by Cr Simes that Mr Duffields services be retained at the fee mentioned £1-1-0, 2nd Cr Puckridge & carried.

Fencing Loan Request from Mrs E Slater to cancel her loans under the Loans for fencing Act of £96 & from JR Durdin for his loan of £12. Requests granted.

Thomas Steele & Co Letter received from Thomas Steele & Co in reference to Mr Merchant's burnt car.

Advice re Agreement to Purchase from the Crown Block 10. Hd Shannon . MA Cronin. Block 73 Hd Ulipa MLW Kennett Block 166-7, 180/1, 210 to 214 & G - MLW Kennett

Meeting adjourned to 28th October 1922 Sections applied to transfer. Notice received from the Secry for Lands that applications to transfer the following sections had been received & asked what instalments were due on Vermin Loans. Road repairs Main West Road. Letter received from Mr HC Wollaston re the above.

Federal Road Grant Letter from the Secretary Local Govt Department & instructions regarding Federal Road Grant.

Letter from I Hall re rubbish stcked against his fence. Overseer to arrange for same to be removed.

Industrial Award. Resolved Advice to be obtained from Local Govt Assn re question of wire netting being included as Revenue, & taken into account with Clerks salary. Matter to be considered at the next meeting. Carried.

Cr Simes asked for the boundary between the Council & the Corporation to be marked. To be done.

Cr Puckrdige asked what was to be done in reference to Contract 118 which AM Wilkinson had given up. Contract to be re-advertised for forming & gravelling.

Road Rolling Moved by Cr Puckridge 2nd Cr Simes, that the Contractor notify the Overseer when he intends to do rolling & the O/Seer be there when it is done. Payment in full to be withheld until rolling is done to the O/seers satisfaction.
