Treasury Department Office of the Light-House Board Washington, D.C. 5 Oct. '99

Commander W.L. Field, U.S.N. Inspector, 13th Light-House District, Portland, Oregon,

Sir:

The recommendation in the annual report of the Engineer of the 13th Light-House District, that a keeper's dwelling be erected at the Yaquina Head, Oregon Light-Station, was considered by the Board at its session on 2 Oct. '99, when it was decided that the Board should recommend in its own annual report that an appropriation of $4,000 should be made for this purpose.

Respectfully,

Thomas Perry Captain, U.S.N., Naval Secretary.
